an overheated computer is never a big deal. Every motherboard nowadays will shut the system down if the CPU or FSB gets too hot. Was the computer permanently affected? I would wager not, since computers are built to shut off before there is any damage to the hardware. If the computer didn't shut off that's a defect in workmanship and should still be covered by the warranty.

If you can afford an expensive computer, you can afford to move out of your parent's house. Expensive computer approx $2000, isn't that at least 2 months rent?
So what about the other 10 months? Expensive computers don't charge monthly rent. The OP could have saved up for it or it could have been a gift from a relative.
So you don't have it set to turn itself off when it's overheating? It should at least just crash and bluescreen, then restart itself.
