Today, I saw some servicemen sitting outside a café, and I went over to thank them for their service. They waited till after I was done shaking their hands before they told me they were just actors on their lunch break. FML

It was a very nice thought OP, they probably were trying not to embarrass you

I know! It's really stupid to thank the people who put their lives on the line and get very little in return. Why the hell should we thank them for defending us? Why do they deserve that? The reason you two are going to get thumbs down is because you're clueless ******* morons who don't deserve what those people in uniform are defending. **** you both.

Well at least they had the decency to tell you

And? At least you were being respectful!

nice thought tho...but on the bright side at least you got to shake hands with some actors.

It's the thought! Don't stop thanking service members because of this!

Well that was a rehearsal...now break a leg with the real thing...

Eff them they are a disrespect to our military for accepting your thanks. Stolen valor. Don't feel bad and don't let that moment make you hesitate to ever say thanks to a REAL vet OP

They shouldn't be in the uniform if not actually on the set, but nice gesture OP

As an actress, I can tell you, the shortest hair and makeup I ever sat through was 2 hours. Lunch break is about 30 minutes. Even if they were allowed to change (HIGHLY unlikely), they wouldn't have time.

Well as an injured service member waiting to see if military approves a medical military retirement. I want to thank you for your support of us. God bless

Well what was in your heart is what counts
