LOL FACEPALM ydi
What ever happened to verbal communication? People determine whether or not they're in a relationship through Facebook? REALLY? That's really sad, pathetic even. FYL for thinking you're in a relationship without talking to the OTHER PERSON about it. (Yes, it usually takes two people to decide whether or not you're in one).
One thing you must learn is that sarcasm does not travel well over the internet. What you mistook for a serious response is most likely a joke.
That's exactly what I'm thinking! And they don't even have to do it face to face, even a Facebook IM chat would have been a DIRECT source of information for the OP, instead of guessing off of third-hand status updates. A simple conversation about where they stand after a couple "dates" (dating does NOT equal going out, something I don't think the OP quite understands) would have cleared up this confusion before it even happened. I think the OP deserves it this time for not taking the time to find out what his REAL relationship status was.
U ppl r so sad with your Facebook statuses ergh
