Today, I sold ice cream to a group of kids. One of them looked sad, because he was the only one who couldn't buy any, so I gave him some for free. Apparently, he was allergic to something in it, and ended up being rushed to the hospital. FML

hey thanks for the comments guys. to answer a few questions neither the kid nor the parent knew he was allergic. aparently he reacted to the red food coloring which caused him to break out in a full body rash the poor little guy was so upset. but now we know he isn't allergic to all ice cream so I told him and the mom they will have free ice cream on me for the rest of the year... as long as it doesn't have red dye! Thanks to all who commented, Cheers!

You should have asked him why he couldn't have any ice cream ! I don't know a kid not liking ice cream!

The kid was the only one without money to buy the ice cream out of the group.

Did you visit with some sorbet? That has a lower chance of giving a problem...

That sucks but you didn't know he was allergic. :/

It's the thought that counts it was sweet to give him free ice cream . What happened was a accident

No good deed goes unpunished:( story of my life...

Anyways, it brings a whole new meaning to: "you scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream"! I still like the old far side comic that illustrated failed marketing ploys: " you cuss, I cuss, we cuss for asparagus"!

It was a sweet thought. You didn't know

At least you tried to do the right thing

As a person with severe allergies to ALL OF THE THINGS, I say that the kid should have told you what he was allergic to before he took the ice-cream. I've been doing it since I was little and I've never had a reaction. It wasn't your fault at all.
