Today, I spent a solid four hours and over one hundred dollars preparing a nice fancy meal for my new girlfriend. A delicious three pound rack of ribs with a sweet and sour marinade. Steam broccoli with melted cheese. Home made buttermilk biscuits. I serve the meal. She doesn't eat beef. FML

That sucks, but before you go all-out on a meal like that you should at least know what she likes and doesn't like.

If she knew you were cooking for her, she really should have mentioned it. You should have maybe asked her if she had any food restrictions, though. Either way, it blows that you spent all that money and time!

Dude how does that cost $100. Ribs are not that expensive, even if it was grass fed beef it would be no more then $10 a pound. Then broccoli and with cheese is not that expensive, broccoli being around $2 a pound for organic broccoli. While cheese can be pricey, i would doubt you would use a cheese like parmigiana reggino which can be up to $20 a pound, i guess you used a good aged cheddar like Dubliner, which goes for around $10 a pound. That brings your total to around $50 without the biscuits. If anyone bakes they would understand how cheap it is to bake your own breads, there is no way you could spend $50 on supplies for biscuits. Anyway dogg, i doubt many would consider ribs and biscuits a fancy meal but rather comfort food. Anyway do not be discouraged from cooking for a girl, I always cook for a girl for a first date. But you should maybe ask if she has any preferences or allergies before you set a menu.

Actually no ribs can go up to 75 I should know my dads GD made us some with German potato salad and gave me some watermelon!

1. You should have known. 2. If you spent over $100 on 3lbs of meat, veggies, and biscuits, you got ripped off.

sounds like the scene from how to lose a guy in 10 days. except that you got ripped off when it came to grocery shopping for it.
