Today, I spent half an hour on the phone with a woman who was yelling at the top of her lungs, sobbing uncontrollably, and hyperventilating. She also told me if she had a heart attack and died from crying, it was all my fault. Why? I told her she needed her receipt to have her TV repaired. FML

Ick. Your life does suck. Some people don't realize that there are real people on the other line, and that we have to do the neccessary steps to help them out.

I totally feel your pain I've been working at a customer service desk for 5 years I ask myself everyday why I still work customer service when I hate people and then I remember Oh yeah cuz I like being a b@#$%

O, the joys of customer service :P Customers don't realize that CS has absolutely no say over the rules put in place. If the employee breaks those rules then they get fired. And seriously if you're going to buy something expensive like a tv or computer, etc then you ALWAYS keep the receipt and any paper work you got with it (like the warranty claim), it's not THAT hard to file it away.
