Today, I spent two hours making dinner for my boyfriend's family. When I brought it over to their house they said "thanks" and didn't bother to invite me to stay to eat it. FML

At least now you know they're not worth expending any effort for.

You should have said "Now that you saw my food I guess I'll be leaving with it, I just wanted to show you how delicious it was!!"

He should've stood up for you. Find someone who will.

I don't understand the way some people think... how would it be selfish of you to want some of the food you made? Lol I can picture it: "thanks! Okay you can go now" //pushes you out the door

I can see both sides of this. It seems a little selfish of you to do something nice and then automatically expect something in return. If someone just handed me a plate of food and said "here i made this for you" i would probably have the same reaction as your boyfriends parents. If they really wanted some of their own food, they can just make it themself. They don't need me to serve it to them. But at the same time, I can see why this would be seen as rude and standoffish.

if make me some food, ill let you eat some with me

That's ridiculous! Was your boyfriend there? Why the hell didn't he speak up?!? Sounds like a bit of an asshole to me!

Why exactly were you cooking them dinner? Just decided one night Hey i'm going to cook you dinner and bring it over? Why not have them over for dinner, or you and your boyfriend could cook there. The only reason i would think of of bringing them dinner is if some one dies, and thats what you do, bring stuff to the family and they don't ask you to have brunch then.

Ouch. Didn't your boyfriend say anything at all?

#10 says it all. They're gonna be dicks, be one back lol. Eye for an eye. Ignorant/rude people annoy the **** outta me

I agree with #8. Some people just weren't raised to do certain things. I personally would have just said thank you and accepted it as a nice gesture.

OMG! What jerks! Did your boyfriend make that decision too? Then dump his dumd ass! And yell and sream at the parents!
