UKRukus tells us more.
It was not a routemaster. im a londoner too. i take risks crossing myself, but i know when you can do it, and when you cant. this guy didnt realise the bus was right behind him as he went to run out on the road. he wouldnt have made it. if he goes about catching buses like that every day, it defies science and logic as to how he is still alive.

Ironic..
You should know better than to help people. YDI
well, congratulations u saved a moron.
Should have let natural selection do its work.
Makes you wonder where he was going, and why it was so important that he would fight OP over missing the bus.
Oh, he "missed" the bus, alright. Ungrateful bastard.
Well, Londoners do cross quickly. There are close calls. I frequently cross in front of traffic because I know I have just enough time and I have a bus or train to get. Similarly, London drivers tend not to slow down or freakout because everyone does it and they trust them to get out of the way in time. I'm under no illusion that's it's not exactly best practice, and I try not to do it in front of children as I don't want them to copy at a young age...but it does kind of work if everyone can judge each other's speed correctly. That said, if someone did pull me back uncessarily, I probably wouldn't have a go at them, as you can't blame them for caring. I'd be inwardly annoyed though.

Sounds like you deserved it. He was going to latch onto the bottom like a crab on a pubic hair. How else are you supposed to get around those ridiculous bus fares.
Should have pushed him back under it.
