Today, I stopped at the gas station to fill up my tank and get some snacks. I paid the cashier, then got back into my car, totally forgetting to pump the $50 worth of fuel I'd just prepaid for. Too bad I didn't realize until my car came to a sputtering stop about a mile down the road. FML

Do you really have the nerve to call people "dumbfucks" after rereading your comment, 46?

I understand the whole security thing with the US and prepaying for petrol, but here in Aust we have these amazing things called security cameras and attendants write down the registration of a car with suspicious occupants in case there is a drive-away. The only time you prepay petrol here is if you used the pay-at-the-pump system, and you'd never forget then anyway, since you are right there :)

Well, at least it was just a mile...

I should have stated my comment better. I honestly didn't mean that you don't care about their situation. I just meant that you probably couldn't do much about it like you stated. I'll be sure to word my sentences right next time.

Prepaid gas? How do you know how much to pay, before you pump? I know the cost of my gas is never the exact same twice, between the difference in amount of fuel and ever-changing gas prices.

You get the change back if you use less. I have a pretty good idea of what it will cost when I stop based on how empty, the size of the tank, and the price.

#86 that's weird. Here you cannot pump gas unless you pay first.

You have had to have had something else big on your mind. $50 shouldn't have been forgotten that easy

loll damnn. Shit happens though. We as people are not perfect

Well.... SOMEONE got free gas... I guess you helped make someone's day!

FYI, if you have an older car, you should never let the tank get below a quarter full. Over the years there is sediment that builds up in the tank and if you run it too low then that sediment gets into the injectors and clogs them.
