Today, I stopped at the gas station to fill up my tank and get some snacks. I paid the cashier, then got back into my car, totally forgetting to pump the $50 worth of fuel I'd just prepaid for. Too bad I didn't realize until my car came to a sputtering stop about a mile down the road. FML

Do you really have the nerve to call people "dumbfucks" after rereading your comment, 46?

I am happy that you in the Netherlands need tp pump first, and than pay! I hope you still had a great time!

That is only true if you have to go inside to pay. If you use the ATM outside, you still have to insert your card and enter your PIN before using it though. After that you can still drive off and the next person using that pump gets charged to your account. Not sure how one would manage to forget to use the pump almost directly after entering their PIN number...

We have all been there. Consider it a kind gesture or Christmas gift for the next person? Someone did that a few years back when I was quite literally crying because I knew I didn't have enough money to fill up and get home very late at night. I was in a bad neighborhood. I remember that there wasn't more than a dollar left on my card 20 bucks had been pre payed by someone like you. To this day, I am thankful and grateful.

In new jersey you have to let an attendant pump gas for you…every state needs this

This is why, in the UK, we pay after we've pumped the petrol.
