Today, I swerved off the road and hit a tree in order to avoid hitting a dog that came out of nowhere. Don't worry, I didn't hit him. The person behind me did, though. FML

Glad you cared about the dog though. You didn't get hurt yourself, did you?

well hey, the dog should have been in a damn crosswalk.... that's what they're there for!!!

ydi for swerving really. Luckily you only swerved into a tree instead of another car or a person. Anyone saying an animals life is equal to that of a humans is indeed a retard and should refrain from breeding, thanks (yes, i mean you #96).

@96 well if you believe that the life of a dog is worth more than the life of a human, if you see a dog in life threatening danger then i would be right to expect you to sacrifice yourself for it, then?

Dayumm!!!!!! -Dog lol FYL and poor doggie! :o

A person shouldn't think that their life is above an animals or vice versus. We all live and breathe, if you aren't going to eat the animal and put every part of them to use...then you shouldn't be killing it. Unless, you are in danger or are being attacked. Swerving out the way wasn't the the best move, you were in potential of danger and or putting someone else in danger/pain, even death,(hitting a person, results in jail time or being sued and tickets) hitting the dog is acceptable. Just make amends for it to the spirit of the animal afterwards; bury it and give a prayer.

Was it a chiwawa? Cause I hit one last night after some one swerved to miss it lol

Well, still...Good for you for choosing to avoid it. Some people don't even bother swerving out of the way for small animals.

Because it's more dangerous to swerve. There are situations where you can safely attempt to avoid them and there are situations where you cannot. Clearly this was one of the latter situations.

I don't swerve outta the way for small children let alone stupid mutts.

you never swerve. just hit the dog, thousands of dollars worth of damage or a dead dog? dead dog.
