Today, I swerved off the road and hit a tree in order to avoid hitting a dog that came out of nowhere. Don't worry, I didn't hit him. The person behind me did, though. FML

Well op, personally I would have hit the thing that did less damage to my car.. in this case the dog would have died. But, fyl for attempting to do the right thing but getting your car wrecked in the process. So what do you think would have taken less time at the mechanic, a messed up bumper and possibly a head light from a dog or a destroyed nose of the car from a tree?

so a living creature has left value then a hunk of metal? well, when you are crossing a street i hope whoever is driving doesnt swerve and hit streetlight instead of you. and no i am not saying he should be killed or something in case it sounds like it.

The OP is lucky to be alive after hitting a tree, but wouldn't have been at risk at all if she'd stayed on course. Hitting an animal is ALWAYS going to be preferable to putting yourself and any potential passengers in danger!

it's actually people teaching dogs to kill, same as our government teaching people in the army to kill..for different reasons, yea. but the lives taken away are on the hands of the people. those dogs were just doing what they were taught and thought was normal

I have a dobe and two small children. She is the sweetest dog i've ever owned! My dog would do anything to PROTECT my children against someone trying to harm them.. its wrong to label a breed based on the ignorance and stupidity of certain ppl who abuse dogs for their own personal entertainment.

well sorta, like my own dog was kind but after something traumatic; I guess you can call it that, he did develop food aggression. I guess dogs have different personalities just as we do as well. and those personalities grow as we are introduced to different things in our life, and they could easily change with a traumatic event or such.
