"you did the right thing for reminding people it's Mother's Day." No, I disagree; it could be easily be interpreted as an arrogant assumption on the OP's part that his/her phone contacts would just forget about Mother's Day. Not to mention the fact that it's an annoying endorsement of a completely commercialized "holiday"; I don't need a reminder to tell my parents how much I appreciate them being in my life.

70 - yea i really hate it when people do that! OP - last Christmas, i sent everyone a text with "Merry Christmas" and then I realized that some of my friends are Jewish. they knew I meant well but haha, the dangers of mass texting!
