Today, I thought I'd locked my house keys in my locker at work. Not having any replacement nearby, I decided to cut the padlock with the saw of my pocket-knife. It took 20 minutes and four cuts into my hand to destroy the padlock. It took another five seconds to find the missing key in my jacket. FML

Why would your pockets not be the first place you check?

Good to know it'll take only 20 minutes to break in.

What's with all the YDI's? Everybody does silly things sometimes. Sorry it caused such hassle though! Hope you can laugh about it soon :)

People even hit YDI for funerals, I'm thinking they are bots or bad trolls...

Yes, except this actually is a YDI. Even if the keys were properly lost, and not just the first place most people would look, trying to cut a padlock with a tiny saw is a dumb and dangerous idea.

Whoops, I just realised that I completely misread this one. Skimming FML's is a baaaaaaad idea XD Yeah, on further consideration I would change my vote :P

Well, I'd say it's not the worst mistake you could have made, but you did manage to cut yourself. More than once, at that. Gonna give you both FYL and YDI.

I like how you can find your pocket-knife but not your keys.

you certainly looked hard for your keys didn't you...

You've been looking for any excuse to test that saw blade haven't you.

And this was at work, too? Is it an issued lock for the locker or one you bought for yourself? You couldn't have searched a bit longer either? YDI

That's either a fairly crap padlock or a really good pocket knife

your house is locked with a pad lock that is simple enough to be cut with a pocket knife?

The padlock was on his locker at work. How hard is it to read an FML?
