Hi everyone, op here, the reason I had wrappers in my pocket was because I was handing out candy for Halloween at my friends house and cleaned up wrappers from eaten candy, forgetting that I had money in my pocket because I got it before I went home to put it in my wallet. While I was throwing it away I just grabbed the war of junk out of my pocket and I was having a conversation with my friend so I didn't notice the money in there while shoving it in the trash. I can't go back to my friends house because he lives very far away, I have texted and called him to ask if he can at least look for it for me and he has not replied. Happy Halloween!

Get more money. Problem solved! I can't believe this was approved as an FML.
Don't think of it as losing $20 in the trash; think of it as gladly paying $20 to rid yourself of garbage!
That is some expensive garbage.
Oh, now that you mentioned it, it sort of is.
I mean, those are 20$ you can use to buy some panties online!
There is this amazing new invention called a wallet that will help you avoid that problem
You've never stuck cash in your pocket? Like if you're going out and don't want to bring a purse? Or you get back change and you put it in your pocket? Or you're wearing a Halloween costume and a wallet won't fit in the pockets, but cash will?
If OP got 20 dollars as change they'd be much too rich to care about losing it.
True. I was just trying to give some "for instances" of when you might not carry a wallet. Though, I suppose, it really is different for men then for women. Women's wallets are so bulky. It's sometimes more convenient just to put stuff in your pockets.
Now all I can think about is what that $20 could have bought... groceries, movie tickets, a spaceship! No need crying over spilt milk though, since you couldn't retrieve the money from the trashcan. Just find a way to get by (carpool, get creative with what's in your pantry/fridge or at worst ask a real good pal if you can loan a few bucks till your next paycheque or allowance). You will survive this! Hopefully :-)
Look at what you're throwing away next time. YDI
I've done this before, simple mistake! Now you will be more aware next time!
Get a wallet
You just made some homeless persons day, when rummage though that trash...
You would have had more than $20 if you didn't waste it on candy.
You know that yesterday was Halloween, right? The day people give away free candy.
Yep. And you know what I did with the candy wrappers? Threw them in the garbage.
So did OP....

$20 is worth digging through the trash to get back.
50, I disagree. If I left money at one of my friend's houses, most or all of them would at least look for it and try to get it back to me. I'd say if your friends are really so greedy that they wouldn't return your money, they're not friends worth keeping.
