umm... AA and NA and all just annoyed me at first... it still kinda does... but rehab? Theres lots of day treatment programs here in Canada (where its just kinda like a walk-in counselling place; its called Daytox here in Vancouver)... check other addictions services places out... because the problem with rehab is that you end up meeting other people that have much more serious issues than yourself but realize they're just as cool a person as you, so when you do have that next binge, the urge to experiment chimes in louder and louder each time... I've been to rehab 5 times, my predicament got worse and worse each time I went (how harshly I relapsed after being clean for a while)... so I'd say: make a list of all the normal healthy shit to do and force yourself to cycle through them instead of turning to the mind/mood-altering substances... :) and since you're a prospective sorority girl, message me...
fyl for your dad being such an ass, and fyl for all the stupid ******* worthless responses you've gotten. Good for you for recognizing you have a problem. I would suggest talking to a counselor since you're clearly in school, I'm sure they can help you get set up with AA or something similar.
Rehab is kinda expensive.
American Amy Winehouse? :o
Some people on here are dumb as ****. Well done OP for seeking help!

if you are old enough to drink, you are old enough to check yourself into rehab
I have never seen such terrible advice for such a serious concern. Not trying to step on toes and may catch flak for the post, but alcoholism is a medically defined disease. It is beyond just drinking heavily. And while it may be fun in college, by the time you reach midlife, it is pure hell. For the poster, there are great facilities in Kansas. If this really is a problem for you that you can't just stop, continue the initiative, call them. I promise you, you won't regret it later when you look back on this. -CltCounselor
