Today, I told my husband that while he was away I had had a miscarriage. His response? "If you can't take care of our baby while it is still inside you, how can I trust you to take care of it when it comes out?" FML

WTF. I hope this isn't true. if it is then you need to leave him. That is one of the cruelest, hurtful insensitive things Ive heard in a long time. My wife and I lost our first child 4 years ago to a miscarriage and I still get upset by it, thankfully we have 2 beautiful children now. leave that loser.

Yeah but you still shouldn't joke about that. And they aren't really different because when a baby is inside a girl she still shouldn't drink, smoke or do whatever else you shouldn't do when pregnant. So if OP was actually smoking, drinking and doing other bad things then her husband actually does have a point. I'm not heartless or soulless, I'm just saying that's the truth.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that your husband doesn't entirely understand the pregnancy process and the things that can go wrong with it. Either that or you killed that fetus with your drug habit and/or penchant for hitting your stomach on objects repeatedy for fun, in which case he has a point.
