Today, I told my parents I no longer believe in the religion they strictly raised me under. They responded by kicking me out of the house. I'm broke, jobless, and the only person that will take me in is my psycho ex-girlfriend who never got over me. FML

I'm all for standing up for one's beliefs, but if you knew your parents were that strict on their own, you should have at least waited until you were financially stable to say anything.

sounds like your house is a theocracy

you believe in religion. you can't just stop. sorry buddy God will forgive you though.

Not necessarily true. I used to work in Christian ministry full-time, and now I've lost nearly all faith in religion. Keyword there is "religion", not Christ; I still have a very strong personal faith. It's even stronger now than it was then, actually, because I had to hash through and reexamine ALL of my personal beliefs during a crisis. I still believe in the whole fellowship of believers thing, so I maintain strong connections with like-minded people. But as far as organized religious practice goes... we don't do that.

That sucks. :( It's awesome that your parents would choose a mythical god over you. Good luck finding a place to stay.

probably should have waited to tell them then...

That's why you play it off like you do believe then when you get your own place tell them.

if ur jobless how do u have an Iphone/Ipad/Ipod Hun

So a psycho is more successful than you? That's kind of pathetic..... And bad mouthing the only person willing to take you in? How ungrateful.

I agree with 4, that was a pretty dumb move. it's great you were honest and open, but you really should have thought about it more first.
