Today, I told my parents I no longer believe in the religion they strictly raised me under. They responded by kicking me out of the house. I'm broke, jobless, and the only person that will take me in is my psycho ex-girlfriend who never got over me. FML

I'm all for standing up for one's beliefs, but if you knew your parents were that strict on their own, you should have at least waited until you were financially stable to say anything.

The real question is why are YOU talking to her?

I'm really sorry about that OP. Your parents are awful. but good for you for not falling victim to their brainwashing. My siblings weren't as lucky. I currently have to go to confirmation, and hopefully they'll stop caring about what I believe in once that's over. If I could just tell my family about my beliefs without angering them, then I would do it in a heartbeat.

Often, it's not what is said, it's how it's said.

This had convinced me to never tell my parents I'm Buddhist and not Christian anymore dude. Thanks a lot -.-

On the bright side, not everyone's parents are douchebags. ...Hopefully.

I feel like OP condemned his parents, or said something that really upset them, rather than a simple "I don't believe in this". Plus he could've just gone for the "I'm still young and thinking about religion" route. Not entirely lying, and he would've gotten his parents off his back (until he got a job, and a house.) while still being fair to himself. It's the parents house, and OP is jobless. Depending on his age, they should have kicked him out anyway, or did he just want to start an argument and not have to sacrifice anything? Though I do know some parents who are actually crazy, YDI in this case.

This is why I don't like realllly religious people... They preach goodness to everyone and then act the opposite :P that sucks though... Although at least you have someone xD sucks who it is tho

shit man i'd rather live with a psycho girlfriend than religious fanatics

149 - Epic quote that works perfectly. xD And what does your job have to do with it, Op? Were you unemployed to begin with, perhaps?

You have no job, no girlfriend and you live with your parents. Ticking them off is a bad idea unless you'd fancy being homeless. Crazy girlfriend saved your butt, so shut up and get a job and an apartment, don't sit around posting on the internet. Oi.

Aww.. the OPs situation sucks, but I feel bad for the ex girlfriend.. its mean to insult her but still rely on her to take you in and be nice to you.. I don't think the OP should take advantage of someone who he feels not even true friendship for.. :-S
