Today, I tried convincing my Valentine-hating boyfriend to send me a card, by explaining how important it is to me. He finally agreed and sent me a card. I opened it up, and it wished me 'harmony and well-being on Lupercalia'. What is Lupercalia? It's an ancient Roman festival where men run down the street naked, whipping people with goat skins to encourage fertility. FML

That's why you shouldn't force your boyfriend to do nice things for you. It won't happen (and with good reason).

I agree with your Boyfriend. Valentines day is a major scam. Why wait to do special things for eachother on some stupid holiday when you could go to a nice dinner and give a gift or receive a gift any other day?

Dont ever pressure someone into doing something they clearly dont enjoy.

At least he had a sense of humor about it.

This is actually kind of amazing haha. At least he has a sense of humor, even if it's a bit dry.

if you have to force him to send you a card I don't see how you could possibly enjoy it.

not really understanding why you would nag him to send you a card. obviously there would be no real feeling behind it because he only did it because you made him. ydi
