Today, I uploaded the first chapter of my best writing yet to a popular writing website. After ten minutes, I was thrilled to already see one review and five comments. Each comment was telling me to immediately delete the story because of how horrible it was. The rating was half a star. FML

Did you do a fanfic of 50 Shades of Grey? Who am I kidding that would become a bestseller.

I am so sorry Op I hate those people I'm okay with critism when its helpful like where you should fix a part not trolls

Consider an actual career. Some people just can't do things other people are good at.

Did the book happen to be called "Faster than the Speed of Love"?

Well looks like we have a Brian Griffin.

Try going on figment.com they have much more constructive criticsm

Don't take it as advice to stop writing altogether, just take it as constructive criticism. Run it through a spelling and grammar checker, make sure the way you formatted it looks like a real book, and know how to punctuate and divide paragraphs. Make it sound believable. Is it painfully obvious that it's a story or are you sucking me into another world? If it's fanfiction, either make the characters sound like they do in the original work or mark it as AU. Ask the commenters how you can make it better.

What site? And I know it's not Wattpad. I already have an account there.

Hey, I'm on Wattpad, too! Are you a reader or a writer? I'm looking for more to read on there.

One of the criticisms I got on my writing is pulling away from the word "said." Instead of "he said, she said," go more for "he demanded, she insisted."
