I had to go through the directory of professors at the local university to find the name of a woman I've been flirting with for months. Simply because I knew a lot of things about her from conversation, but the name didn't stick.

I have a friend that everyone calls a different name than his real name his surname is Harris and everyone calls him that or Harry. It sounds weird when people call him by his real name so I understand you OP.
