Today, I visited my 90-year-old great-grandmother and her boyfriend. This wouldn't be a problem, if this boyfriend wasn't different than the one she had yesterday. She told me not to tell him about "the other one". FML

Ler her live young and stupid. As long she does stupid things, she might still be young.

It's sweet that you visit her two days in a row.

It's sweet that that's what you took from that.

Can someone please explain why this is ok and encouraged? I don't know all the details, and granted she is 90, it might not even be a serious thing, but isn't it generally considered unfaithful to have more than one partner? If so, why does it suddenly become acceptable because of her age? I'm genuinely confused, and perhaps someone could explain this to me. Thanks!

She made it to 90. That alone is worth bragging about, and at that point, you can do whatever you want. You just blame it on the fact that you're old.

There is no explanation, internet just works like this. Personally I believe gender or age should have nothing to do with this. A 90 year old man probably wouldn't receive as much upvoted positive comments, neither would a younger woman. I think many people want to say this but are scared of down votes.

All these comments defending her... If OP's grandparent had been male, everyone's reaction would be much different.

at least she knew it was a different guy. get it granny!

Is one of her boyfriends the one she had escorted out of the grocery store for trying to help her reach something on the top shelf?
