Sorry to hear that and my mom passed away two years ago, so I can kind of relate on the dad part. I never walk in on my dad though, I always stay outside :D

I did the same thing to a picture of my dead great-grandmother, and all I got were disgusted looks, but that might be because it was at her funeral.
