Generally, spiders that are poisonous enough to harm humans do not build high webs. High webs are for catching tiny bugs so powerful poison is unnecessary. It's the ones that live on the ground and kill frogs and mice that you have to worry about.

Sounds odd for everyone to say they "walked into oncoming traffic". That would imply that you were walking down the street WITH traffic when you ran into said web, and ran off into the other lane.
