At MOST, water would have leaked in a steady stream. You could have stuck a pencil in the hole to stop or virtually shut off the flow of water. You sorry liar. There was enough time to have gotten a shovel and dug a freakin trench to drain the water away. Hey you idiots, I'm a HUGE animal lover but stop ******** on people for shooting animals. Cultural diversity makes it the norm for a cushy city/suburb person to never want to hurt an animal as long as it's cute and fuzzy; you don't know his story, he could be living out in the country and that garden could be his FOOD source, not just pretty flowers. I wouldn't just keep giving up my food and hard work to one single tiny animal when I might have a family to feed. If you have mice eating and pooping in your house, you set up mouse traps and kill them. I bet hardly any of you bother to trap and relocate them. Mouse traps can be less humane than a quick bullet, by the way. Anyway, I still think the OP is an idiot for shooting near his pool, and is probably a dumb hick.
