You must have amazing health insurance-I haven't seen anyone admitted with chronic constipation in at least 15 years. Usually it's an enema in the ER and have a good day. Unless you all have eating disorders and this is a Psych unit?
My thoughts! What the hell insurance is going to admit someone for constipation?!? Where I live, we don't have beds for people who are dying. Pretty sure if u presented with chronic constipation, I'd be told to take a laxative and go see my regular doctor.
My friend has an 11 year old boy who suffers with chronic constipation actually and was admitted to hospital two weeks ago where they found out he was so backed up that enemas wouldn't affect it so he needed an operation... it's actually a very serious problem
#83: I understand that, but constipation and fecal impaction are two different things. Fecal impaction is a serious problem, often requiring surgical intervention. (However, I've manually dug out my share of impacted patients). OP did not sound like there had been any surgical intervention, and that was what prompted my comment. In this day and age, constipation is NOT an indication for hospitalization, unless, as I suggested, they are in a Psych unit already, either with an eating disorder or experiencing side effects of psychotropic meds.
Adult diaper time.
1 bathroom, 3 people, and Strong laxatives. Ready. FIGHT!
Time to play some battle *****
there's three girls this time. Three times the action!!
#34 - The sad (or happy?) truth is that that ratio suggests only 1.5 times the action.
No bedside commode
The hospital people probably didn't think about the situation: [1] shared room [2] laxatives [3] number of bathrooms
Boy that sounds shitty
