Today, I was arrested for drinking in public. It was my friend who was drinking; I was taking the alcohol from her so she wouldn't be arrested. FML

Today, I was the designated driver. On the way home with my drunk friends, they decide to give me a beer shower. I swerved, and was pulled over by a cop moments after. I was the only one arrested. FML

Today, I went to a bar with a close friend. She got drunk and was feeling sick, so I carried her to my car to take her to her house. Some stranger accused me of drugging her and tackled me with her in my arms. She threw up on me, and he took off running without an apology. FML

Today, I was drinking in the park with my friends. Being drunk, I relieved myself on a nearby tree. Unknown to me, a 4 year old was having her birthday party 100 yards away. I was arrested for public intoxication and exposing myself to a minor. FML

Today, it was my friend's 18th birthday. She had invited us out drinking. I've never had alcohol before and was very excited. I got a call explaining that she had invited one too many and asked me not to come. People bragging on facebook about what a great time they were having didn't help either. FML

Today, I was arrested for DWI in my own apartment complex. I had to be released into the custody of a sober adult, but I wasn't allowed access to my phone to get any numbers. I only have a few memorized. So I was picked up from jail by my ex-girlfriend and her fiancé - my manager at work. FML

Today, I was drunk and crashed on my friend's couch to sober up. On the drive home, a cop pulled me over for seemingly no reason. He kept asking if I had been drinking, to which I answered no. Finally, he told me to look in the mirror. My friends had written all over my face while I slept. FML

At least you tried? This is almost like the saying "good friends bail you out of jail, best friends sit beside you and say "we ****** up". But in this case... You got screwed over. Sorry OP

Well at least you went down trying to help a friend, something only a true friend would do... In fact I think anyone who's a true friend has their share of moments like this one, getting in trouble to help a friend I know I do for a fact...

I'm sure you can fight it as they haven't proved you had any alcohol in your system and/or that beer was yours. And smack your friend for not defending you when the cop came, that is no friend..

If you explained the situation, they would test your alcohol levels and hers and would be able to discern that you weren't drinking, so it shouldn't be a big deal. You may have gotten arrested, but it's not likely that you got charged for anything. I believe that they would be obligated to test you for alcohol anyway, regardless of what you said.

You can. It just depends where. Obviously licensed venues etc. you can. Walking down a city street with a beer in your hand will usually get you in trouble though.
