Today, I was at a restaurant with my kids. I told my 13 year old about how the very first time she said she loved me. She was 2 and it was at this very restaurant. I told her the details and even started tearing up a little. She didn't even look up from her cell phone and said, "That's fab, ma." FML

I'm only a year older than OP's daughter, and I would have probably gushed all about it! :') Am I the only one who loves hearing stories about their childhood?

Who cares,,, you should br grateful the kid doesn't want to talk you,, take the time to enjoy the quite. Screw a teenager,, nobody likes them anyway.

Slap her, she obviously deserves it!!

Why would you give a 13 year old a cell phone? If you had to get her one, get her a basic talk and text cell.

FYL and YDI First, 13 years old is a bit young to get a cellphone. But that could be debated. Second, YDI for not having made it clear that at a family dinner in a restaurant it is RUDE to text and spend time with your cellphone. Teach your kids manners before complaining. Finally, don't worry about her lack of emotion. She's becoming a teen and at this age you cant expect them to be always all sentimental and loveable with you.

She is just like every other teenager in the world! Get used to it, Ma!

Your fault op. 13 year old with a phone.... REALLY?!

Soooo u have a regular 13 year old.....

Maybe you should take away get cell phone? She's 13...what could she possibly need one for? I didn't get one till I was 16 because I was driving and my parents wanted me to able to get ahold of them or them get ahold of me to make sure everything was going alright.
