Today, I was at a restaurant with my kids. I told my 13 year old about how the very first time she said she loved me. She was 2 and it was at this very restaurant. I told her the details and even started tearing up a little. She didn't even look up from her cell phone and said, "That's fab, ma." FML

I'm only a year older than OP's daughter, and I would have probably gushed all about it! :') Am I the only one who loves hearing stories about their childhood?

Gosh.. That make things a bit awkward especially the tearing up part! But I see where you're coming from so FYL.

I'm 15 and I'm not like that at all. I keep my phone or iPod away when I'm eating or talking to someone.

I really think people who are saying "I hate my generation" are just people who want thumbs up. I'm sick and tired of every goddamn person who thinks they are mature and better than the rest of us by saying how stupid and inconsiderate we all are. News flash, we are not all the same!

Some Technologies like cell phone ruined lives...

I'm gonna have to say YDI... You sound like one of those mothers who spoil their children, like getting them a cellphone at 13. If you spoil them, they'll only love you if you give them things.

Our generation is screwed

She's 13. Even without the cell phone, at most she'd probably just get embarrassed. It doesn't mean she doesn't love you, it means she's at an age where talking about it like that is strange for her.

Take her fkin cell away..in a way its your fault you let em get into the trap of useless technology

What else did you expect? She's thirteen. I mean, I am a teenager myself, and I know that I HATE it when my mom does stuff like that to me. I couldn't care less what I was like at age three, and honestly, it's embarrassing as hell, even if there is nobody around. I would probably look up and put my phone away, but still, I doubt I could muster anything better than a "Oh... well, that's great, mom." It's just a normal part of growing up. Maybe ask her politely to put her phone away, but nothing more.

There are some people in this world who would love to hear what they were like at they age. To bad they can't because thier parents were such druggies that DHS has to step in and remove them from thier home. And yeah I'm one of those people.
