I know how you feel
oops ..her ...screw antique flood protection.
anti dammit ..hahaha
Ummm yeah.... Okay..
That is still a highly inappropriate way to talk to most of the special needs population, even those who are severely intellectually disabled and/or emotionally immature for their biological age... FYL and FHL.
I disagree. Medical and dental professionals are trained to be able to interact in different ways with people of different abilities to make their treatment the best experience possible. The dentist in this case made an error but for some people with disabilities normal communication can be ineffective and lead to misunderstanding.
... pretty sure if your paitent has a disibility you're supposed to inquire how to treat them before breaking out the goo-goo talk. Which isn't very appropraite or professional even of you were "specail".
He just showing what are the tools is for and what they do.
Having a brother that is "special", it infuriates me that people who think they need to goo goo talk to them. Kids like that may have a slower development but talking to them like they are babies is not helping. In fact goo goo talk helps no one, even "normal" babies. It's important to talk to them with simple but proper vocabulary.
Why did it take so long for someone to poast about how rude it is to make fun of people with special needs? Sorry, the correct term changes all the time and if I used the wrong one, I meant well. At any rate: dentist seems like she's used to talking to really little kids (or maybe she has one at home and baby talk is what popped out). I would have just made a joke at the dentist, "Oh, is that what they call it in dental school now?" that tends to shut people up. But I can't imagine a dentist actually saying, "I talked to you that way because I thought you were ... " I can imiagine OP feeling like that is what the dentist thought. Man, theres no way to make sense of this.
The ignorance is strong with that one. Just because someone is "special" doesn't mean they must be spoken to in that manner. We're all equal, just different.
Amen sista
Why did she think you were special? Were you drooling while looking down her blouse?
When I had braces, the assistances always wore low cut shirts. I could just imagine a teen's face enjoying being that close to some boobies! "Now lean back, lean back, lean back"

Well, did you turn up to the Dentist's in a short bus and wearing a bike helmet?
You should get back at her by licking her fingers when they're in your mouth
