Today, I was at the store buying some feminine products. At the cash register, the clerk said to me "Dude, you know those are for girls right?" I am a 30 year old woman. FML

Today, I was working at my job as a cashier, checking out an elderly woman's groceries. She was very nice, and we chatted for a couple minutes. Once she had paid, she leaned close to me and said, very politely, "I'm so so sorry that I mistook you for a girl at first, young man." I AM a girl. FML

Today, my daughter got her first period, so I went and got some products for her, certain that I knew what was needed. The lady cashier took one look in my basket and sympathetically asked if it was my daughter's first period and if I wanted help, since I clearly had no idea what I was doing. FML

It's too bad that he mistook you for a man. But, really it's none of his business. Nice men go out and buy their women feminine hygiene products all the time. He's ignorant and just lonely because he doesn't have a girlfriend.

This is so fake. Men buy pads and tampons for their wives, girlfriends, etc. all the time. I highly doubt a cashier would say tell them they are buying women's products. Any cashier learns in training that they are never to comment on what the customer is buying.

I would've called the manager. Some cashiers are complete asswipes. My fiance went out once to buy me deodorant (and I'm assuming since your SN is partially secret deodorant that's what you were buying) and the cashier told him that they should have mens' deodorant in stock and that he didn't need to buy female deodorant and razors. He just shook his head, paid then went to the service desk to complain. Said associate was written up and my fiance was given a $5 gift card. All because some stupid cashier thought it'd be okay to comment on his purchases for his sick girlfriend.
