Today, I was at the store buying some feminine products. At the cash register, the clerk said to me "Dude, you know those are for girls right?" I am a 30 year old woman. FML

It's too bad that he mistook you for a man. But, really it's none of his business. Nice men go out and buy their women feminine hygiene products all the time. He's ignorant and just lonely because he doesn't have a girlfriend.

Woww... you should have punched him who the **** would question someone for buying items like that? (presuming ''feminine'' means tampons ect'') even if you do look like a guy, he's an asshole for not thinking that the supposed guy he's serving isn't buying them for his girlfriend. people should just shut upppppp sometimes lol

You seriously need to reconsider your haircut and wardrobe. I bet he's not the only person to make the mistake - just one of the few to voice it.

Hey now, if I'm just going to the store or something, I grab some jeans and any random shirt that I find (usually a baggy one) and some sneakers or flat tops, and until recently, my hair hasn't been long at all, it reached to about my ears. No one's every mistaken me for a boy; I've even been hit on a couple of times looking like this, so I don't see how this is the OP's fault for "looking like a man". It's not the cashier's job to be nice, it's the cashier's job to check out the products and make sure their payed for. But I must say, if this is truly, truly bothering OP in her heart of hearts, then she should do whatever she sees fit to change the way she's veiwed, because she obviously cares a lot about what people think.

The clerk should be more careful with his words.
