Today, I was at the store buying some feminine products. At the cash register, the clerk said to me "Dude, you know those are for girls right?" I am a 30 year old woman. FML

It's too bad that he mistook you for a man. But, really it's none of his business. Nice men go out and buy their women feminine hygiene products all the time. He's ignorant and just lonely because he doesn't have a girlfriend.

Did he maybe mean teenage girls? Either way, FYL!

I'm female. I'm also tall. Half my head is shaved. I go out in my boyfriend's shirts and jeans sometimes, with no makeup. And yet people don't comment on my gender because... oh yeah! It's none of their ******* business. That cashier was bang out of line. It's none of his/her business to comment on customers' purchases. Receiving incrdibly bad service is nothing to do with how OP looks, so leave her alone. It's not her fault.

Maybe when he said girls, he meant teenagers? Like younger girls will use them, while you should use some other brand. Idk, I'm a guy, so.

I now have the Teen Titans theme tune in my head, except it's Teen Tampons! In the UK at least, I've never seen 'feminine products' with age restrictions. But yeah... it's possible, i guess...

Hey for all you people telling her to put on makeup and high heels to make her look more feminine: What if she is a lesbian? What if she doesn't want to look feminine? I know some butch lesbians who have gotten mistaken as men. You guys are stupid for trying to dictate what a woman should look like.

"what if she is a lesbian?" yeah, way to generalise there.

Seriously. Not all lesbians want to look like men. OP's sexuality shouldn't even be called into question here; it just isn't relevant.
