Today, I was changing my son's diaper when he said "Momma." Astonished that he'd finally spoken, I clapped and smiled proudly. My clap scared the crap out of him. Literally. FML

LOL! I knew Americans clapped in weird situations, but this is just insane. Americans clap at things I'd never even consider clapping at. First words, traffic lights turning green, youtube videos, finishing a book, getting your hair cut, even commercial breaks ending. I really don't understand it, but I guess it's just a part of their culture.
