Sorry for your loss ;-)
I don't know if I can post links here, but I direct you to Cracked - 6 Words Made Up By Stupid People (We Should Learn To Accept) by columnist Robert Brockway. It seems relevant, and also, every should read Cracked. Proposed definition. "Irregardless: When you do actually have regard for the subject matter but you just don't want to talk about it with that person anymore. 'Yes, I do admire the works of Godwin, Gary. But irregardless of anarchic philosophy, let's at least put on some pants, OK?'"
Don't really see why you needed to bring it up in the first place; it's not as though it matters about small spelling mishaps when you're just chatting online.
Never a good idea to insinuate that the incredibly cute person you would like to go out with is a moron. And you may know that irregardless is incorrect but you are still a relationship moron. So maybe you two morons could still manage to date
Yeah, like those who don't know how to wear a baseball hat the right way.
You're.
You're not your. Just sayin
Pretty sure OP was exactly quoting the guy she was chatting with, which just demonstrates even more how stupid he is.
I would have found it difficult not to correct him if I had been you, OP. "Irregardless", for some reason, has become a very commonly misused word. It just shows how poorly educated we are in our own language. And this isn't FYL, it's FHL.
