Today, I was cleaning my father's study room and wondering why I did not receive my acceptance/rejection letter from a college I really wanted. I found the acceptance letter, on his desk, also approving of a full scholarship. The deadline to confirm was a month ago. FML

You should contact the school and tell them the circumstances. If they say no ask if you could be admitted for the winter quarter.

That really bites! Tell your dad that he is going to pay your full ride of college now.

That does suck, but one, be sure to learn something from this, you're off to college now. Follow up on important matters. Two, if u really want to go, u should still call the college, they let late confirmations slide, alot, to fill the spot of others that haven't confirmed... (ironically, like u). and Three, why the HELL are you cleaning you're father's study room. He's a grown ass man... His child is cleaning up after him and he withheld some very important information. I don't know your dad, but going strictly but what you've shared, you probably dont wanna be like him when you're a parent...

College is not the crap to forget on purpose to teach your son a lesson. If they learn it, great. If they don't, you've ****** up the rest of their life. Good job.

I would just sit down and cry if that happened

Fake. Didn't you even ask your parents if it came in the mail? What dad wouldn't be excited to see a full scholarship to a college? If anything he would have filled out the confirmation before even telling you, no way he would have left it there for a month. And have you ever received an acceptance letter? If you have, you would know that besides the initial one you get hundreds of letters about the college trying to convince you to come. You would have been able to put two and two together a week after the acceptance letter came. And on the small chance that it's real, it's completely your fault for ignoring everything I mentioned above.

You should have checked, but your dad is a bastard. Contact and explain, and see how far you get. Otherwise, your dad definitely needs to contribute to college expenses.
