That reminds me of when I went to get a job at Taco Bell: after taking a 100-question test, I pointed out that questions 27 and 73 were word-for-word the same thing. They immediately stopped the interview process and said they'd call me. They never called, obviously.
she laughed because you don't need a resume to work at publix hence why she threw it away
You are probably overqualified for a job at a grocery store if you even have a resume. Nobody wants to waste their time hiring someone who is going to get bored, quit and go back to living in his mom's basement. They want some newly-arrived minority or deadbeat who is going to be there for a long time.
I work at a grocery store...it sucks, it's not worth it. You can find something better, I wish I could.
Wow that's so unprofessional. Bear in mind though, the employment world is full of morons and they feel superior because they have a job and you don't. Plus, some people are just total assholes. Have someone who does employment counseling look it over and see what can be changed. There's always tweaking that can be done to a resume, and everyone will have their own view of what it should be. Just don't take it personally. I don't know your age, you might be high school or near retirement. Whatever, just get someone who's not an asshole and not family/friend to look it over. Good luck!
#32, it's because they recognized you weren't a robot/zombie and had a brain and some eyes, and that you'd quickly recognize their inability to manage with intelligence. And they don't want to train someone who is smart enough to realize he/she is worth more than the ill-treatment you'd get, and train somebody else 2 months after you started because you just went somewhere else. Wow, that was poorly phrased but you get my point.
They probably asked for a resume as a joke, then laughed and threw it out when you actually produced one. You don't need one to work at a grocery store.
i doubt that happened. grocery stores pretty much don't need a resume to apply for a job. and i'm pretty sure that girl could get fired for doing that.

Life's a bitch... you shouldn't worry, besides you don't wanna work in a place with workers like that. =/
You may want to revamp that resume of yours. There are government programs that can help you with that, youth centers, job connect, etc. Or google resume layouts and sell yourself (I know your mom told you not to, but as long as it's on paper and not the corner, you should be good)
