Today, I was desperately handing out resumes. I came to my local grocery store and asked for a job application, the customer service rep told me all she needed was my resume. I smiled and gave it to her only to see her read it, laugh and put it straight in the garbage as I walked out. FML

Life's a bitch... you shouldn't worry, besides you don't wanna work in a place with workers like that. =/

You may want to revamp that resume of yours. There are government programs that can help you with that, youth centers, job connect, etc. Or google resume layouts and sell yourself (I know your mom told you not to, but as long as it's on paper and not the corner, you should be good)

i would have scolded her for not recycling it lmao

And I thought I had trouble with my job search! No one will hire me because I've got no job experience. How can I get job experience if no one will hire me? But for your resume to be thrown out in your view, that's just ****** up!

Well, look on the bright side. You definitely don't want her as a boss. Also, I'd like to see this resume. You should show it to us (censoring any private info or whatever).

well maybe the resume sucked. you should look into that. but she could at least recycle it instead of throwing it out, pftt.

err.... i hope you did something about that. that is illegal. they have to hold it for a minimum amount of time. i think it is 3 months but i am not positive.

#12 i agree. as far as i believe, a college degree isnt exactly required to work at a grocery store ;) the lady might have instantly thought that OP was lying if he did actually have an impressive resume and was applying to work a lowlife job at a grocery store (no offense to all the supermarket cashiers out there with PhDs getting paid seven dollars an hour)

Seriously? Were you asking to apply to a bagger job or a manager position? People are so rude it's ridiculous sometimes.

i feel ya, i'm in desperate need of a job too. I went in for an interview the other day and the receptionist nicely told me they already filled that position and "forgot" to tell me. ugh f our lives :)
