Today, I was driving behind a UPS truck. All of a sudden his back door opens up exposing some boxes ready to fall out. Like a good driver I speed up to drive beside him to tell him. He thought I was trying to cut him off so he accelerated. A box flies out and dents my windshield. FML

I know some are going to either say "Mind your own business, YDI" or "Sorry to hear about that." I think it was actually nice of you to do what you felt was right. In a normal situation the UPS driver's irresponsibility would've exposed other drivers to potential hazards. Since most of us don't have UPS customer service on speed-dial, there's not much else you could've really done to help. BTW: I won't say "first" like the other losers out there who claim that they do this mainly because they've never been first at anything in life (No joke, one guy said that and caused others in the comments to admit his comment was more FML than the OP's).

Amazing glass, dude. I wish my car's glass could dent, it only breaks when hit with a flying object. Oh, and the wind must have been pretty strong to send a box into another lane.

Your windshield wouldn't break because of a box, shatter-resistant glass has to have a very small and powerful area of contact (like a glass break on a knife) in order to shatter.

When you accelerate, you move faster. And because the truck was moving faster, it was ahead of this guy. It might not have fallen out as soon as he accelerated

I'm not sure how a box that flew out of the back of his truck hit your windshield if you were driving alongside of him. Dented windshield, though, I understand. I've seen it before. So while this line doesn't make it seem fake, and actually adds to the credibility of the poster... There is no way that that box swooped around their truck to attack your windshield on its own. >.>

Shit, that happened to me once when I was on my way to school. Although, we were in a turning lane so he didn't think we were passing him. I hope you called UPS and bitched! They should pay for your windshield because of his negligence

How's that possible? Your speeding up in the next lane. If a box were to fall out and hit the car, it would hit the car that was behind you before you did a lane change. Unless that box was secrectly a boomerang box and targeted your car. Just saying.
