everyone is telling her to go back now....too late
Pride will be your downfall. Especially with such a misplaced pride.
You're not alone! I walked to a pizza place on my lunch break, paid for a slice, and then walked out. I did go back for mine though. They laughed at me a little, but not maliciously and then I got to eat pizza which is a happy end to any story.
I understand.
I use to live near twenty-five cents toll-booths. When tired or distracted I would hand the collector a $1 bill, then drive off...more than a few times :
as a drive-thru cashier, let me tell you that while this isnt an every day occurance, it does happen quite a bit. one time, i had turned around just long enough to get the food and the lady was gone. about 20 minutes or so later, she called and said "so, this is gonna sound kind of stupid, but i drove off without my food" we just told her to come back with her receipt and we would make it fresh. people just have off days. nothing to be embarassed about. :)
Most of the employees aren't going to judge you. Especially if you have a receipt. However, we might have to remake it because at that point one of us has probably claimed and eaten it....
you should absolutely go back it happens all the time they're used to it I don't know how many times I've paid for something left it on the counter and walked away from it generally the clerk will yell at me you want your s tuff
I'm only saying you deserve it because you shouldn't have been embarrassed to go back and get it. I've done it multiple times and have gone back to get my food. It's better to be embarrassed and full then to be hungry in my opinion

You should've gone back for the food...
After a long day of work, we've all done something like that. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, that could get expensive.
