Today, I was expecting my period. To avoid the embarrassment of everyone in the office finding out, instead of putting tampons in my bag, I hid one in my bra. It fell out while I was coming back from lunch. I am now known to all as "The Tampon Dispenser". FML

As opposed to "The Chick with the Super Long Nipple?"

I assume if you work in an office everyone there would have been able to handle seeing a tampon in your bag. Even if they are, for some reason, immature enough to give you a dumb nickname like that they could have been desensitized from seeing tampons in purses from high school and have not said anything. In reality if someone pointed out "Oh hey guys, she has a tampon in her bag!" they would have looked like a moron.

Why be embarrassed? It's a natural part of life. Get those compact ones and you can just hide them in your fist.

It could have fallen out of a lot worse places........

Yea! David Beckam does it all the time!

Oh that sucks, but I guess you've nothing to be embarrassed about now (:

Either you expect your coworkers to go through your bag (I doubt) or you don't have a bag you can discreetly take to the loo... If it's the latter, just use your pockets or something when you need it. Also, it's a period ffs, it's not that embarassing, most girls get one every month and most people know that. So long as you don't flaunt it there's no real problem about it all. Grow up.

When I get mine I send a mass message out to my contacts informing them I'm not pregnant.

63- and I bet all the guys on your contact list heave a collective sigh of relief each month when you do :)

Do you work in an elementary school? I mean, seriously. Grow up.

Agree with #11. This is the 21st century. The times of taboos on most things are a thing of the past. A period is nothing to be ashamed of (and that coming from a guy...) ;) You probably did more damage than good hiding the tampon in your bra.

Sounds like your bra is a little too big.

How would they know it was in your bag.... Do you coworkers snoop your purse/bag?

You put it in your bra to AVOID your coworkers seeing it? I would have thought that hiding it away in a purse pocket would have been more discreet, but that's just me.

Well, think about it. She probably didn't want to bring her whole purse just to stick in a tampon.

..."Whole purse"? It's a bag, surely if she needs to lug a massive bag for work she'll have a smaller one for if she needs to nip out at lunch time...?

The fml said purse. Women usually put their electronic devises, wallet and makeup in there. So why would she bring all that junk when she could simply put it in her bra? It doesn't matter if it is a small or big purse, its just easier that way.

Tbf most of the girls I know who feel the need to put make up in their bag (when they're at work or whatnot) are the type of girls who feel the need to touch up their make up every time they go to the loo anyway... Also, I think this FML speaks for itself about why storing tampons in your bag would be better than your bra. I also imagine that the bag option is comfier.

Killerturtle - just to clarify, I think when OP says 'purse' she means wallet. Here in Australia they're basically the same thing, and we say handbag to refer to what you seem to call a purse. Regardless, she could have kept it in her bag, then just discreetly hidden a tampon in her fist/pocket when she had to go to the toilet. I guess she'll know for next time...
