88 - She wasn't wrongly terminated, you ******* tard.
In those situations, you have to think why your boss wanted to fire you so bad anyway. I'm sure she was just making excuse to get rid of you. I don't know if it's your fault or your boss'es.
There could be more to this story. In many workplaces, employees are reminded of upcoming meetings by e-mail. At the same time, "I didn't get the e-mail" is rarely a sufficient explanation for failing to meet your professional responsibilities. The employer in this case may be responding to the employee's lack of initiative and interpersonal skills. This may be a workplace in which sitting back passively and waiting to be spoonfed information and direction via e-mail is not sufficient. The employee's failure to be on top of things, to confirm appointments and meetings with colleagues, and so on, may be part of the problem. The employer may feel that the employee's failure to notice she was not included in key communications for several weeks demonstrates a lack of concern or interest. If she misses meetings by failing to be proactive, what else will she miss in the course of her duties? I don't know exactly what industry is involved here, or how this workplace functions, but I do think there may be more to it than we have heard.
@43 - yeaaah... btw, its pretty clear that OP's boss just didn't like her and wanted an excuse to have her gone. i guess the boss gets points for devising this plan. regardless, its pretty weak. refer back to #43...
If what you are saying is correct, that was wrong of her. Here, in Norway, they can't fire you just like that. They just can't, you'd easily get your job back. And, honestly, you should sue.
Norwegian employment laws in a nutshell: 1) All companies are required to sign each employee to a contract. 2) If a company wants to terminate an employee, 1-3 months of salary must be given. 3) If the employee challenges the termination, the company has to, by law, keep that employee on the payroll until the courts rule whether the termination is fair or unfair. Sometimes taking 2-3 years. 4) Because of the slow justice system, many contracts have 3+ month salary payments to those they are terminating as agreements for termination. 5) Poor performance and work misconducts are not suitable termination reasons. (Yeah...you read correctly) Norwegian employees are spoiled. "They just can't" is only applicable in Norway my friend.
That's cool and all…But then you're in Norway.
Seek legal advice, ASAP.
You'll probably be happier now that you can find a job that doesn't involve working for an awful boss like this one. Good Luck!
that sucks ... get a good labor and employment lawyer ... sue for wrongful termination.

Woah that REALLY sucks. Can she do that?
Yeah, I doubt she can actually do that. Sue
