Yeah, I live in one of those "no cause needed" states. =/ It sucks because if your boss doesn't like you they can fire you even if you're the hardest working worker there. I would file for unemployment because unless you've actually done something seriously wrong they can't deny you unemployment benefits.
I was fired from my daycare job for losing a kid. :o Problem was, it was the substitute that lost her. They didn't care though, I was still fired - she was too, of course. Bosses usually don't give a damn why they fire you - if they want you gone, they'll find a way.
I got fired before becuase I asked for a day off, and the assistant manager said yes and the General Manager didnt know about it. when I didnt show up on the day, I got fired because I (yes, me) didnt tell the manager, I todl the assistant manager. ASSISTANT! theyre suppesed to ASSIST!!! not get people fired! well **** them! that was my first job at KFC and I know it was well worth the time becuase me and my family got about 1000 dollars worth of KFC for free while I worked there lololo
I swear to Gid the same thing happened to me. I mean the part about not knowing about the meeting because I never got the emails, not on the list, etc. luckily I didn't get fired, though!
lol that just sucks ass dude hmm.. what you can do is sue her ass for ignorance and still firing you without reason. come on firing someone for no reason maybe she hated you =(
that's not fair :(
Sue !
There is no such thing as a right to work state - only a right to fire you state. Plus, seeing as that the email was never entered into the system, it's possible the OP was still in the probationary period and it's even tougher to prove wrongful termination then. I was once promoted in a job after working a day, because they were going to fire another employee. Because they were trying to fire her for a disability, she threatened to sue. Meanwhile, they hired someone for my original position, so after only a month, I was fired. Because I was promoted into a job that didn't exist. They can do that.
does n e 1find it odd that the boss forgot to enter the email address in the "system"? Distribution lists are usually created via the it team not the clueless computer user of a boss.

Woah that REALLY sucks. Can she do that?
Yeah, I doubt she can actually do that. Sue
