This is why I never lied to my kids about this. I really don't grasp the concept of lying to children about these fantasies, knowing full well that one day they'll find out, their hearts will be broken, and their faith in the value of my word shattered. I get the concept of wanting something fun for your kids, but this can be accomplished without lies.
I was never shattered and never doubted my parents word when I found out about the Easter Bunny or Santa not being real. I think it honestly depends on how the kids find out. My mom let me and my sibs puzzle it out and then answered any questions we had.
look on the bright side u still got the tooth fairy
Stop lying to your children! Okay, do what you want, but please don't complain later for their disappointment lol. I get that it's the 'spirit' part of it, and fun imagination etc, but it doesn't seem worth the sadness later on in my opinion and yes, my parents did NOT tell me there were any mythical characters coming into my house at any point, but DID tell me the origins of the story. So my brother and I were aware of the reasons behind most traditions etc.
Don't the parents hide the Easter eggs for the Easter hunt anyway +_+
Your 7 year olds take naps? Do drug them?
Apparently they weren't drugged well enough if they woke up as OP was hiding the eggs
Why don't parents just tell their kids the truth about holiday characters. and a bunny laying an egg is impossible
YLS because of triplets but but the main point. I big deal they need to grow up at some point why not early??
That's why you tell them that you are the one to hide the eggs, and the Easter bunny only brings the basket, not that he hides the eggs, dummy.

Couldn't you have gone with the 'the Easter bunny was so busy today he asked me for the help ' line?
Hey, at least they're smart kids?
