why the **** would you want the holliday off at the same time EVERY ONE ELSE does also?? YDI for being a stupid ****. I like to have the time between christmas & Valentines, or between any holidays off.
Just be glad you dont have my sister's old job, where to make everything "fair" they made EVERYONE work at least 4 hours on every major holiday. If you didn't show up, you were fired. Also I have never had a Christmas off at my job... and since I work overnights, that often leaves me with very little time to spend with my family before I have to sleep for work. I still make do.
At least you are able to take off at all. I can't after Halloween.
YDI for being the low man( or woman) on the totem pole. I agree with #11. Seniority and status rule the day when it comes to scheduling vacations. This applies to any work environment.
Welcome to Corporate America, comrade.
that suxs....I've always had 3 wks off if u don't like where u at then there is always something better out there for u..... I would at least ask why I didn't get it off
YOU MUST WORK WHERE I WORK. WELCOME TO CORPORATE AMERICA... WHERE THE 'HIGHSCHOOL CLICK' IS ALIVE AND WELL
I'll sound like an idiot but when is thanksgiving ( I'm British)
I don't blame you, it's an American holiday. It's the third Thursday of November.

It's a conspiracy.
He didn't ask too early at all. A lot of businesses have a policy that you must put in your holidays a certain length of time before you want them, especially if they are over holiday periods. The place I work has this policy (in fact, we aren't even allowed to book time off at Xmas at all). Having said that, if this business does have that policy, then they're giving the other guy some extreme special treatment. I'm sure you can complain about this, especially if he didn't give you a decent reason fro rejecting your holiday request.
