Today, I was jogging when a woman ran out of her house and handed me an invitation for a party. What was the invitation for? A weight loss treatment party. Guess the jogging isn't working. FML

High school reunions blow anyway

By Spaceballs - 27/08/2023 00:02

Today, I got an invite to my high school reunion. With visions of wowing my former classmates, I set about starting a diet and exercise regimen. The universe had other plans. On my first run out in the fields, I managed to trip over an invisible pebble, fall into a puddle, and fuck my ankle up. The only thing I'm reuniting with now is my couch and a bag of ice. FML

Ugh... I know people think they're trying to help when they do stuff like this, but really, all it does is hurt the person's feelings and make you look like a total ass.

Oh no! That's horrible! A random person's insensitivity has definitely ruined your life forever! (Seriously, since you're jogging, you're obviously interested in weight loss and fitness, so she's naturally trying to get people to come to this. She may be getting a commission for it and is handing them out to anyone. Don't take it personally.)

No, OP. Keep up with the jogging, it takes time. And hell, why not try the party out as well? Anything to get you into shape is worth it I think

jogging does help. that lady is a bitch for doing that.

She could be having a party where she is trying to get people who might be interested to show up; because she gets paid to sign people up. I had a similar incident happen yesterday while I was at my friends house. Her dad was the one trying to get me interested in it when I am already on it. I know how it feels, OP. just keep jogging and good luck!!

Weight loss party? Sounds like some Herbasomething MLM...

Try not to take it too personally. It doesn't necessarily mean she thinks you need to lose weight, she just may have thought that a person who is taking the time to jog is interested in achieving or maintaining weight loss and might like to attend her party. It is somewhat insensitive, but that should say something about her manners, not your body.

If it's a weight loss party, it's probably because she's distributing some expensive and questionable treatment. Handing an invitation to a jogger of any size isn't an insult, it's savvy business. Keep up your jogging, you're doing it right!
