You got grifted good. I guess that means that some people do fall for thee 'ol Nigerian prince has a fortune trick then.
If you pay me a large deposit i will find this guy!
YDI, research people that you are having do a bunch of work for you. Did you ask for references or check the company's background/previous work? It's not like you didn't have the time, this wasn't an emergency. Also, sue him.
#27 - Saying that #4/10/24 should rationalize means assuming that he has more than 3 or 4 brain cells that still light up. I think you're being generous.
I agree with the people saying do some research first, however a similar incident involving a window company happened to my parents about a year ago. The private owner came highly recommended by many people in the neighborhood, so they never thought to research online. He just decided to pack up and leave town with about $35,000 of deposit money or half finished jobs from around the county. Call the Better Business Bureau.
... that was dumb of you why didn't you check online BEFORE you hired him? or why didn't you call his "company" for assurance that he was reliable? doesn't make sense... should you really be living on your own?
haha #4 & 10... ok, i'm a girl, and i am OBSESSED with sexist jokes... they are the funniest thing in the world to me... so really did i appreciate those comments... you just probably shouldn't be a dumbass about it or you'll end up being unemployed living under your white trash girlfriend's blue collar paycheck to paycheck and you'll be humiliated for life
WomboCombo, you can go **** yourself now, if we women are so worthless. and then you can cry about being lonely. and then you can bitch about how no one wants you. which will turn you bitter and lead you to conclude we're not worth it anyway. See what I'm getting at here? Christ, I have a mind to think you are my long-lost ex-best-friend Daniel. he's a psychopath now. Good for you! ...and I totally agree with #14.

1. That sucks; happened to my parents once. Except instead of an interior designer, it was a contractor. Not to mention he was in the process of finishing a family friend's house. Needless to say, a month after he got the down payment, he disappeared and has yet to put the finishing touches on our friend's house This was in 2005. 2. Next time, search the person before even calling them. Their service is like a product; check the online reviews before investing any money into it.
Never pay up front. Plus how did you not research the person before hand? Come on now, use your head. It's common sense.
