Today, I was looking online for an alternative number for the interior decorator that is making curtains for me because I couldn't get hold of him. Instead of his number I found a website warning people about him, saying he is a conman. I paid a very big deposit. FML

1. That sucks; happened to my parents once. Except instead of an interior designer, it was a contractor. Not to mention he was in the process of finishing a family friend's house. Needless to say, a month after he got the down payment, he disappeared and has yet to put the finishing touches on our friend's house This was in 2005. 2. Next time, search the person before even calling them. Their service is like a product; check the online reviews before investing any money into it.

It's 2009, wake up buddy all you had to do was google his name or the name of his company! Or maybe visit his store, make sure it's legit before making a deposit, anyone will screw anyone over for money nowadays open your eyes!! Smart one aren't ya!!

You technically deserve it, BIG TIME because before making the deposit, you should have properly done your research to avoid a thing such as this. I agree with # 43. It's 2009, and the people on the site you found warned people for a reason.

And remeber it was a "worthless" woman who concieved your ungrateful ass, but personally if I were her I'd abort. Or, leave you in a dumpster you'd be too much of a jackass to go anywhere but get eaten by a wolf. OP: You ALWAYS have to go the website, if it has spelling errors no reviews or just looks fishy chances are it is. Look for someone known, or that your friends have used.

that sucks :( similar thing almost happened to me with a modeling agency but I checked it out in time to figure out it was a scam. I'm sorry you weren't as lucky. and wombocombo, I know plenty of men who act on impulse. They cheat and regret it or spend money carelessly. I know women who are the same way. Generalizing the way you do just makes you seem like a bitter sexist jackass. Of course I guess it works out, since you'll never get married and have kids. No one wants someone with your types of values to procreate.
