You have no idea if she was a teenager- she could have been in her twenties. Also, an eighteen or nineteen year old girl is still technically a teenager, but there are a rare few that are mature enough to be mothers at that age, and who want to be married and have families. Even if she was a teenager, that doesn't condemn her. Also, how do you know the "boyfriend" isn't her husband? Do you really have to assume that all the young people with kids did not want them? I'm 20, my fiance and have been together for a several years and will be married soon. We plan to have kids soon after that. I look younger than I am, however. Age and appearance do not dictate maturity. Actions, behavior, and lifestyle do. Obviously, the fact that she kept them and didn't have abortion, was in a store buying condoms for safe sex, and had them secured in a stroller (and not thrown in a shopping cart) shows a good degree of maturity. I'm glad her mate beat you up, though I'm certain he never actually harmed you. Most people won't attack someone in the middle of a store, unless they're very unbalanced.
Breaking news: Once you've had kids contraception never works again, it always works if you haven't had kids yet, everyone who looks like a teenager is a teenager, babysitters are myth and legend, your only choices are no babies or all the babies ever and other people's reproductive choices are totally your business. I used to get the most HORRID looks when I was 18 and dating a guy with a two year old sister. My whole family looks young - my 35 year old sister still gets carded by people who genuinely think she might not be old enough to buy wine (and say so, this isn't just a guess) and the first time I met his mother she asked him if he was SURE I was 18 because she couldn't believe it. It was really incredibly unpleasant, especially considering we were just doing his parents a favour by looking after her. I wish people would quit making assumptions and judgements about strangers.
Oh this guy totally deserved it. That's what you get for being an asshole
i think the fact that the guy beat the op up confirmed what the op thought. personally, if i was babysitting 2 kids and someone called me a ****,i wouldnt get offended cos i know the truth. but yes op, some things should be kept in the crevices of your mind.
You're so right OP, she already has two kids and it's clearly too late. The best thing she can do is put the condoms back and risk having more! You damn genius you! Glad you were there to grace them with your knowledge -end sarcasm- YDI
I know many people say you deserve it but look I don't think you do. I wouldn't necessarily do the same but I'd think of keeping your thoughts in your head and then just let them out later or when you're alone. :•)
I don't see why the "boyfriend" had to do that. OP spoke the truth, and even though op could've kept it to his/her self I agree! It kinda is late for those
Quite judgemental, shame on you for that. But you didn't deserve to be assaulted for a comment that could simply have been interpreted as a joke and left at that. Don't know why people think it's okay to just attack someone because they say something a tad bit offensive. But still, don't be a dick OP :P
